I so agree with you on that …

I am a bit shell shocked that she would ask for loan this early in the relationship…

I would say never loan money you can't afford to lose. Loans to friends/lovers are always sensitive and frequently cause problems especially when the 'loan' becomes a 'gift' because the borrower doesn't act responsibly to repay it.

But if you going to loan her the money, it is something you have to talk about at length with some stipulations before going through with it.
