I agree with you Stormey, although I've never seen the &quot;woods&quot; in question....don't think they are &quot;pliable&quot; enough to be used that way!....someone was mekking joke!

i agree with the writer, i always winced when i passed through the area, the carvings are gorgeous and im sure appreciated by some but do they have to be in full display of children ???????????????? cant they be in a more descreet place. by the way, my eyes and the eyes of children have NO CURTAINS so whether we like it or not we have to be bombarded with the view.

i think we are too hung up on nudity and sexuality in general...and i also believe that the people who have problems with those statues in general tend to be small penised men..not kids...

i have taken mine to craft markets with those statues and they are not interested in looking at that stuff....they want the beaded hair doll or the coconut shaker that some pushy vendor is trying to chuck off on me...

if a kid is gonna get hung up on a carved image then i say it is time to break out the birds and bees book and start having conversations with them....

Well I brought something similar back from jamaica.... carving....this one is a nude man covered from the waist down with a barre,l when you tap the barrel it flies up covers the guy face and a big ole penis is exposed standing at attention so to speak.

I have it in the family room it is quite the conversation piece. people say oh that is unusual and I say tap the barrel...mr. penis pops out and I crack up laughing at the expression on their face.....

I saw an article where they interviewed the vendors about them and they said it was to get people to stop. The ones on the roadside are life sized and there appendages are giant size so I don't think people buying those, but it gets them customers.
