Dont know if this been posted before,but there was a big story here in the uk recently about a wealthy woman who won her ex-husband in court,after he took her to court to overthrow the pre-nup he signed before he married her.

Bwoy mi no know bout nobody but mi naw sign no pre-nup before mi marrid har,but if it.s me with the money mi no know how mi would really put it to her to sign one before mi married har,....it just doesnt sound right to me.

It depends pan wha di prenup seh...hiff mi naaah git nutt'n at all, mi wuddah tink twice hiff im filthy rich...wha hiff mi deh wid im fi donkie years?...now, in my case, I definitely would haff im sign wan, mi no waan nobaddie cum tie demself tuh mi, den 6 months latah dem want 50% of mi monie...nutt'n noh goh soh..

I would highly recommend pre-nuptial agreements depending on the stage of the game, how much money is involved from one or both parties, children from previous relationships, and many other legalities.

Marriage is a legally binding institution. One can't be stupid about these things.

But thats my point,if its legally binding why even consider a break-up by asking the other person to sign something that says when we break up you dont get any of my money.

Now that may be a reason to ask them to sign,if you only know each other a short time,but even so why get married if you,ve only known each other a short time and you,re unsure of how long the thing may last.

my sister and her boyfriend (now husband) had been separated for a while prior to their marriage. my sister went on to move to another town, establish herself and was doing exceptionally well. my sister and the boyfriend (now husband) did have one daughter together. when dude came back into the picture (broke, busted and disgusted) <span style="font-weight: bold">HE</span> asked for my sister to draw up a prenup for him to sign. He put it to my sister that he wanted to prove that he wasn't back for the money, but because he was really trying to reconcile.

They signed one, not sure what it says...but they've been married going on 12 years now.

Here in Ontario if a marriage ends in separation both parties are allowed to keep the value of the assets they brought into the marriage. It is important for the party with the most assets to keep a good account of their paperwork.

The 6 months is referring to the length of the marriage, not the amt of time the couple know each other...there are those who will tag on for years until the knot is tied, then it is another story...

Prenup is very essential in many instances, eg when a 19 year old woman is suddenly interested in marrying a 70 year old man who is wealthy; or a 25 year old man interested in an 80 year old filthy rich woman for marriage, something wrong deresoh....

... the older folks family should make sure that a prenup goes through.

wondering if is the same for B.C. eg. if you marry someone and you already own property and you both live there as the matrimonial home, if yu split with them seeing that you had your house before you marry them you do not have to give them 50% of the house if the marriage falls apart a so or just the value that/if it rise to from that point onward.

Lawd me read that and mi a confuse miself anyway haffi flash now I will check back tomorrow for your answer.
