Christmas countdown

Do we really only have 20 more shopping days to Christmas? Is anyone planning a big splash this year, or are you planning to travel to be with family? Anybody been to the malls to tackle the list, or planning the easy way out (gift cards)?

Do the holidays feel more hopeful than last year?

<span style="font-family: 'Courier New'">Money has been mailed off to all my nieces and nephews. My own children will get some money too. Over the past 26 years when we've been a family unit, it just happened that we've kept Christmas simple. It's just our way, I suppose.

My college-age son and girlfriend plan to cook Christmas dinner at the house. Friends, as usual, will drop in and out over the season and we will have much laughter and good conversations. I plan to have some good rum punch always ready in the fridge.

Lights are on the window sills and berry wreath is on the door. Tree will come next weekend. Because it is cold now, I am only missing the smell of the lit fireplace but that was Mr. PZ's specialty. So it is my first Christmas in 28 years without my soulmate. It will be a little sad but love surrounds me and I am giving some of that love to all on Jamaicans.com

(((Peasie))) How nice that your family and friends will be there to see you through the holidays This time together will surely be the best 'first' that you could possibly have. One of the nicest parts is that you've even relinquished the kitchen! Time for you to be pampered.

But then you had to be a showoff and send your cards off way in advance! (couldnt find the arms folded and pouting smilie)

This week the kids have been acting up. Considering shopping has not yet been done, the list has been adjusted and will only require a quick trip to the hardware store for coal.

Actually we are donating what we would spend on their gifts to heifer.org

Other fambly members are not near us so is peer, point, click, shop a gwan fi dem

Christmas decor will start this weekend.

Am considering celebrating Orthodox xmas instead so can tek advantage of the sales
