He hits her. And now the kid is hitting her too. She tried to kill herself. And now she's institutionalized.

Just heard that he's telling her parents that he doesn't want his kid being raised by someone who is 'unstable'. He's threatening to take the kid away - figures the courts will definitely give him custody because of his wife's suicide attempt.

I think it's emotional and financial blackmail. Her parents have money. I think he's just leading up to start demanding 'things' if they want to keep seeing their grandson...

Grandpa is not having it. Grandma is panicking.

i don't think there is any coming back form the suicide attempt unless she can prove that the is not unstable and it was as a result of his abuse. she better get ahead fo this if she is going try to cut off his custody move. if the grandparents are worried abotu access they should be come a party to the custody battle too

the suicide attempt, although unfortunate, doesn't automatically make her unqualified to keep custody of her kid. she may have to relinquish sole custody and share. if the grandparents want to continue seeing their kid..they should simply enter the custody suit themselves or do so as a party with their daughter.

surely there has to be some documentation of the abuse prior to the suicide attempt.

No official report. She's a mouse of a woman. Kinda like her mother. Her father tried to talk (I'm more inclined to say 'berate' but...) to her about reporting it. She didn't.

Her husband has never been in the family's social league. Money notwithstanding, the guy has <span style="text-decoration: underline">nothing</span> to recommend him. I've been inclined to think that being with him was her one act of rebellion...

Anyway, she's never worked. He does. Still, the house they live in was paid for by the grandparents. The daughter's car (which the husband drives - he leaves his lemon parked up on the driveway, driving the neighbours mad ~lol~), was a gift from them as well. From the snippets I've heard, any major purchases done, was from money that she'd get from her folks.

I don't think she has the strength to fight him. I also think that if she's released, the husband will want her back just so that the money will keep flowing. I think too, that this threat about taking the kid is a ploy to get money.

Grandmother is the sort who would give him whatever he wants as long as she gets to see her grandson.

Grandfather is willing to call his bluff.

Denial is her middle name. Whatever she couldn't fix at home, she'd get treated at a walk in clinic.

Someone who knows her said they saw the child hitting her while they were at a restaurant. Some figure that she child was just acting out the terrible twos... others thinks he's just acting like daddy does...

look at all of this documentation you've posted here. these things can quickly turn into affidavits.

I'm just an outsider. Maybe if the guy really decides to go the custody route, her family and friends will find 'evidence'...

But the lynch pin is her. And she will not fight him.

Wonder if she's suffering from postpartum..

One of my former coworker attempted suicide. At that time she had a 6 yo and a baby few months old. She was having relationship issues including abuse from father of infant. She was taken to the ER and later transferred to an inpatient facility. The 6 yo was placed with his father, and the infant was in foster care. She did not have family support. Her father was disappointed in her, and her mother was in another country. Long and short of it is. She complied with DCF and all the requirements on the service plan. Since the goal was reunification with the family. She got her children back, ended the relationship with baby father, and is working full time elsewhere. There are a lot of support services available to stabilize families in crisis.

Maybe she'd be better off without either of them ..niether of them seem to respect her or even care for her so what is trying to defend? I don't understand. The kid as to be brought up to the best of the able parents responsibility so if her Parents are in a financial positron to facilitate this I'm sure the courts will be reasonable.

I guess the positive thing for her to focus on is that she survived the suicide attempt and she's in a place where by if she makes use of the counseling and services available to her she can rethink her life and get to a place where she's able to function and plan a future for herself.

Sometimes you got to stop fighting for a 'norm' thats making you sick ..and instead veer off and try another door.

the chick needs meds &amp; therapy in whatever order to help with depression and kick start her self esteem NOW

Otherwise she a guh tek back di jancrow. Grandparents need to file
custody and mek sure dem establish that she is not a danger to herself and the child.

Someone needs to ask her if she wants custody if her child cause she might not want di child
