I don't think there are any rules as to who will or will not. Just have to hope for the best and when that doesn't happen you either move on or accept it.

We lived in a small community and my Dad was known as "the perfect gentleman". With whom would he want to sully that rep?

My Dad lived circumspectly and by his example, I have two brothers who are very similar in nature with their families...in terms of commitment, love, tolerance and understanding.

There was just no way he would let down his family; he knew we adored him and looked up to him....I can swear for him.

His best gift to us was to have loved my mother and not to respond to her when she was arguing with him.

He would just tell her, "Shhh...talk about it later..." and let her cool down.

Her best gift to us was to love him and fuss him when she felt she had to do so...in the name of not being the perfect one. [img]/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

We buried them side by side and they are now living together in eternity...with her saying to him, every now and again, 'Yes, they say you are the perfect gentleman...". [img]/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

I've seen it myself.

Not sure if the road easy or hard but it's doable.
