historically, [some] men and men in some entire cultures have/had this fear of women. In other words, have implemented laws, notably via religion, to "keep them in their places?" In some places they are restricted from education, excluded from town meeetings, etc. In other words, the cultures they are part of is stuck in time.

I agree with blu.

Men do this because men are afraid of feeling less than. Keeping a woman in her place leaves her oblivious to certain things. With this, he has complete control over everything she does. She in turn, doesn't see anything else but him.....giving him complete contol over her.

Believe it or not, there are certain men who do not want their women do get an education or even work. Only because they fear of losing the "role of a man". Not only that, most men can't swallow the fact that a woman can/does do better than he can with or without him......
