If you trust your spouse, why demand proof of "ownership"?
If you don't trust him just because he doesn't want to wear a ring, then maybe the relationship needs some closer examination.
Why can't you just take him at his word?

I have more rings than I can keep track of, all different styles. I LOVE the look of rings, I love jewelry in general, but after a couple of hours the rings are off my fingers, no matter the style, I just find them uncomfortable.

I can't imagine someone telling me I had to wear one.

My ring doesn't look like the typical "wedding ring" it's quite unique I wear it evertday because I love it . My husband wears his most of the times sometimes he forgets it at home it really doesn't matter.

Scotty and I both wear our rings, all the time. Neither of us wore rings before.

I never thought of it as a symbol of ownership, or to tell other people to back off, can't imagine it working for either of those reasons.

Our rings are not expensive, but yes they are very symbolic. They have value because we assigned them value. I thought I lost mine once a couple of months ago. We were going through one of those really rough peroids just then. All I kept thinking is what a terrible mistake I had made. I was FREE and I threw it all away!!! Misplacing the ring reminded me how I really felt about my marriage in a way hardly anything else could have. I stopped thinking about what I threw away and started thinking about how I could lose him just that same way, in the blink of an eye. The fights stopped. (Or at least went back to normal parameters. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70392-silly.gif[/img])

Scotty also has a practical reason to wear his ring. It has saved that finger from getting smashed at work twice already. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif[/img]
