I couldn't come up with an appropriate title...actually I'm just tired.

After being extremely independent and a hard-worker all your life, would you welcome the chance to no longer work and being dependent on your husband/partner? Is it easy to make that adjustment?

For me it would not be easy, I've been on my own for 12 years. I think about alot of things for example my home, I've put alot into it and at this moment would not want to move. I like working and really love my current job.

So for me the adjustment would not be easy, it would have to be in stages.

The novelty would wear off pretty quick. And soon you'd start getting bored and missing yours...

Presently this is what works for me and my family.

to answer the second part of your question : it wasn't extremely difficult to make the adjustment...but like anything else it took some getting used to.

Compry --it takes a year.. you need to experience it with all 4 seasons. 1st few months are great, then you will find yourself redefinining yourself which may not be a bad thing.

You will have to develop a new social network and if you have younger children it is easy as one tends to find more at home moms with younger kids. But there is also a very large at home life in the daytime I find.. Different vibes in the neighborhoods in the daytime than weekends.

seeing that me is independent and on mi own for so long
and den fe go depend on mi husband fe everything
dont think I could do it fulltime
mi would have to have a part time job fe mie mi owna packet money

personally...i'd love it for maybe 6 months....but then i'd start feeling bored...and would question my worth. I'd need to find volunteer activities to make my life feel it had some useful purpose.

second problem i think i'd have would be getting comfortable spending "his" money. would be ok if i had a nest egg to spend...so i wouldn't have to second guess myself and feel guilty over whether what i think i need/want is a wise use of his resources. catholic guilt is a helluva thing.

would love to find me a sugar daddy to test this tho....

Yes I would welcome that HOWEVER I would most likely be running some type of business from the home...so if he wants me to stay home ...no problem...like SS said...I would work part time

If he had a problem with me doing something part time then I would have a problem with him.

This is funny.. some girlfriends and I were just talking about this!! Since all my life I have always looked after myself (money wise) so it would be a huge adjustment to have a man pay for everything and me not work nor bring in any money to the home....

BUT... I sure would try it for a year or so [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif[/img] Would be nice for a change to NOT have to worry about money and let someone else take care of it all!!!

I could not do it...been too independent for too long, I have had the offer a few times but turned them down. Could not see myself leaving all that is comfortable, job, friends and moving to to a place where I only have HIM!!!! no baba not for me...however I could not even see myself living with a boyfriend even if it was 50/50 [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70394-bawlout.gif[/img]
