I was here thinking a frienemie owes me 1G from a long time ago. Currently they are off taking care of some business. I received an email from them seeking my assistance with a problem they're having. In the email they stated that they need me to handle some documents in their absence. They have sent the documents via mail already and will be sending me the money via western union to handle the documents and I must pick up the money on Friday [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70402-thinking.gif[/img] I wonder if this person remember they owe me, it has been over two years since they've mentioned a word about it.

What would be the right thing to do in your opinion?
A.) Keep the money and deduct it from what they owe you.
B.) Do as they asked with the money.
C.) Never pick up the money and email them back asking them to find someone else to help them.

i wouldn't mind running the errand for them if it wasn't something that would be time consuming or troublesome...but you can be damn sure i'd be mentioning the money owed...and asking for a time frame when i could expect it to be returned.

It wouldn't bother you that they expect this and haven't even mentioned the money they owe you? I sent gentle reminders about the money the first few months after it was lent, now I'd feel like I'm begging if I ask again.

oh yes it would bother me....greatly. but i'm the kind that will go out of my way to help someone if they need help.

At the same time....when i mentioned the loan...i'd be mentioning it forcefully. trust me...they'd be getting the message quite clearly.

What makes me upset is that they just assume that you will help them. It is disrespectful that they sent the documents before even asking you if you would help. Of course they know that they owe you this money. You don't borrow that kind of dough and not remember...

You need to be strait with them for real on the money they owe you.
You need to make a big deal out of it because aparently they won't.

I say..

D.) Pick up the money, then tell them you need an agreement, in writing of when they will pay what they already owe you before you will take care of this for them.

I would ask them about the money full stop and tell them that u resent the fact that they put you in a position fe haffe aks fe it. It makes u uncomfortable and just like they asked u for it they should be responsible enough to at least explain to you why they havent made any attempt to repay the money... I hate people like that and under no circumstance should u feel that u beggin fe anyting!

To answer your question, it depends on the favor needed. It if is going to take more than 30 minutes of my time, fuhgetaboutit.

And I would reply to the e-mail asking what about the money you owe me? Its always easier to to say things electronically, so why not. If they already sent the money, it will make them think real hard about their response.

Tanks...That sounds too nice tho, honestly I don't feel like bothing to do anything right now with the documents. Even tho they are time sensitive. Just not in the mood to be bothered right now.
