I was chatting with one of friends, she's Japanese. The topic of other Asian groups came up. She stated with utmost distaste (i swear I could feel her shudder) that she would never use the services of "those people" vietnamese and chinese to be specific...for instance they could never be her doctor. Me cyan memba what me response was ..but she modified her statement by saying.."well mebbe chinese...but definitely not vietnamese". I kid yu not she was cringing at the very thought. I thought about the hundreds of yrs of ingrained cultural superiority that i facing and just let it go by saying "its the Japanese in you" and you know what? she was OK with that...still kinda bothers me though
