for those who can't view it, this guy proposes to his girl at some game on the jumbotron and she gets up and walks away.

question, why do people do it?

When it fails, they don't know the person they are proposing to well enough. Some women would love nothing better than a public proposal for all of mankind to witness. Given that she got up and walked out, I don't think she minds a scene either, but he might have put the show on too soon.

I think they are equally yoked in appearance but she's a bit younger and her chins haven't bust out yet. Maybe she is dating him because she enjoys being with him but just not enough to marry. Maybe nobody else is on the horizon and she's the type who can't be alone. Could be lots of reasons but people mess around with others all the time with no intent of pursuing something long term.

I agree.

Who knows? He was probably using this public display to try and right a wrong - much like some do with flowers.

Either way, she has the right to say yes or no to a basic question. He should have a better idea before he asked.

More men perhaps will need to be embarrassed into understanding that a woman should be <span style="font-weight: bold">suprised </span>when she receives a proposal, not <span style="font-weight: bold">shocked</span>.

Two totally different levels of emotions, with significantly different outcomes. Some have to learn the hard way, I guess.

I can't see the vids, but the one recently on the news looks staged- even his reaction afterwards is poorly acted.
