Last name blocking marriage

A lady refuse to married the man she is in love with because his last name is roach. He try to convince her that its just name and
he don't see no reason for changing it.

She have her reason that since she is more in the business field the name is not appropriate for her, having people calling her Miss
roach. She said the name is embarrassing and she would rather he change his last name before the wedding.

His family doesn't like the idea of him changing his name for her. So it become a tagger war thing between his family and the
woman he wants to married.

What would you do in this situation?

LOL - mi anty married name a Roach and it didn't kill har she will be 100 years old in August. All har 11 pickney dem name Roach - cumm from St James. But, put fun and joke aside, a nuff nuff people name Roach from all over the caribbean. Mi friend husband cumm from St. Martin and name Roache. Tell har fi put an 'e' at the end of it. This reminds mi of the British comedy "Keeping Up Appearances" where the lady's last name is Bucket and she pronuced it "Buckaay" 'frenchified' it.

She obviously no want to marry him. She making excuse. If it bothers her so much, why not just double barrel or keep her own name?

That is very silly to ask him to change his name after he's been living with it all his life. Unless her name is Killer or Spray or Baycon, I don't see the issue.
