i'd say devoting 25 years of your life to another person is very loyal.

i do find as i get older tho....that this loyalty thing is over rated. </div></div>
that's probably because you've been together for so long you're bored? am i right or wrong? do you think you could change your status now? would you want to?

Re: Do you believe
yes sue...you're very nosy...but it's ok. yes...boredom has something to do with it. In 25 years....two people change...have different goals than they did in the beginning...its hard to maintain what was...and even harder to accept change. Could i change my status?
Not going to say the thought never crosses my mind...i've come close at times...but i'm still here. So i guess the answer is no. One should never say never tho.

Re: Do you believe
thanks for the answer loops.
question: what causes the boredom? is it just the familiarity with the same person, day after day or something else?
i wonder how those people who reach the 50 year mark manage.

Re: Do you believe
i'm married to a mute.
it gets hard to converse with yourself all the time.
those 50 year people must be madly in love with eachother. Yknow how people go on vacation and come back saying they fell in love all over again? That doesn't happen to me. I'm just happy we didn't kill each other.

Re: Do you believe
Sometimes the reason people stay together changes over time. It may be that they are madly in love at first. After 25 years it may be fear of
change
financial ruin
no one finding them attractive anymore
STD's
being alone
Add your reason here: ____________________.

Re: Do you believe
have only been married 23 years so i guess im off the hook from answering...
finding it hard that anyone can be sexually excited over the same person for 25 years +... but loyalty is another matter...
i think many people are faitful for the duration of a marriage.. and wouldnt think otherwise... doesnt mean they dont secretly wish for a tryst
loops being married a mute has its advantages.... lololol
