I think there's a distinction too...I excuse some of the adolescent coaching that goes on between a hormonal boy trying to move to 4th base w/ an innocent girl who is taught to say no to maintain her reputation.... and so her initial no, often leads to something else...

And this is what men use to excuse their bad behaviour, but to me the distinction is very clear. What do you guys think?

the funny thing is that wen i was younger, i had the sense to threaten people to tell mi fada who was feared...fi real...i can memba ole men who use to love feel up young girls...u would hear people laff about it...an i can remember a family friend propositioning me an my telling dem i would tell mi fada an even worse, fi him, mi modda...mi fada woulda did kill him but losing mi modda's respek seemed to affect him most of all...den di wus ting is dat is at him wedding reception di dawg proposition me...i can remember his veddy words..him neva ha a virgin yet an if mi wudda let him...wow...one memory lets loose another...fi real...but him did ask while dancing at him own bloody wedding reception...i was in 5th bloody form...ole dawg....

I've always assumed "no" means "no",(I had a very straight-forward, no b.s. mother)...and I've never been the one to push it anyway. There are many women who are very aggressive as well, but I wouldn't say a man could be raped...maybe seduced...but not raped. The worst time I ever had was after I had lived with this gal for 8 yrs, and she kicked me out...she called me up and asked for money for a past bill or something, and something else...after I went there and stepped to leave, she cornered me in the room with a pair of 12" scissors (wouldn't let me leave)I bailed out an open window...She has been in therapy since, I heard.

...an interesting sidenote: I belong to an anonymous substance abuse group...and of the members who are women...it's commonly acknowledged that about 95% have been molested by family members or raped...the fallout from these experiences is awful... I didn't because as I said before I didn't think of it as rape although I did feel somewhat violated. I had an unwanted pregnancy resulting from that which my body rejected 8 weeks later...It hurt alot but I got over it...just wanted to forget about that whole chapter and move along. Funny enough when I told him I was pregnant he wanted to be involved but I couldn't fathom the thought of having him in me and my child's life when the circumstances of conception were not ideal...

and Dear K...as much as you want to..you never forget.
