I think that's what it was called. Caught the end of a documentary that was following a married couple and he, his wife and another couple were off to dinner with his parents, where he told the parents that he + wife were going to enter into a 'committed' r/ship with this new couple.

Then there was anothr story w a girl telling her mom that her guy friend and her girl friend that mom knows she's been hanging out w/ for yrs, are really her partners/loves.

Couldn't we just let that Mormon sect have their thing?!

Anybody heard 'polyamory before?

Terisa and Matt and Vera and Larry—along with Scott, who's also at this dinner—are not swingers, per se; they aren't pursuing casual sex. Nor are they polygamists of the sort portrayed on HBO's Big Love; they aren't religious, and they don't have multiple wives. But they do believe in "ethical nonmonogamy," or engaging in loving, intimate relationships with more than one person—based upon the knowledge and consent of everyone involved. They are polyamorous, to use the term of art applied to multiple-partner families like theirs, and they wouldn't want to live any other way.

yes. heard of it.

there is a well known 3some (or maybe it was 4) with children involved. they even made the rounds on the morning shows

seen some profiled on real sex long time ago as well as true life.

Whoa whoa, you're holding out- how did that situation turn out? Spill!

I think I do recall seeing a clip of that documentary lady in the article, a long long time ago- there was a child and she was with 2 men, one of whom was very meek, if I recall. I just find it so odd that this would work for any group of people! A r/ship with 1 other person can be so challenging, that it blows my mind that they're (successfully) adding mroe to the mix. Its just too much for me to imagine.

A &amp; C deh fi bout 8 years by den. one night a group a wi out on di town when K ketch C eye. emotional affair ensued. C a try talk K into turning dem relationship into a open one (while she trying to also convince A dat dem shud get pregnant )

more drama wherein dem tell every tom dick and harry weh cross dem path what going on or not going on inna dem bedroom!

C continue to go out wid K despite A objections. after long drawn out talking, therapy, reading touchy feely books A &amp; C reconcile and i guess chalk it up to a blip inna di relationship.

bout 6 years later now - dem just done guh thru a nasty divorce with restraining orders against each other and fighting fi who fi get di house dem.

yes, dese are all women and is a mix of races.

So this lady and two men were a thrupple lol. I am assuming the men slept together too

To answer your original question, yes I have heard of polyamory before. I think it's a little more fair than polygamy (what the Mormon's practice). Honestly when I first started watching Big Love, I was thinking OMG but it kind of grew on me. I was like hmm, so I could get some extra help around the house and not have to be bothered with the man every night? That's not really a bad deal lol.

Seriously though, that type of lifestyle is not for me but I can see how it would work for others. I mean for people drawn to swinging, orgies, or what not, this may be the logical next step to provide the variety they crave with the security of a commitment.
