yes pretty much if left untreated it can lead to PID..and since she wasn't getting regular pap smears (mi assume) she probably had it a long time

Some schools, public and private have morality clauses in the contracts. It is in effect here in broward. Two public school teachers were in a swingers club that got raided. They didn't get arrested, the club was legal. But the teachers lost their jobs beecause being in the swingers club was considered immoral.

They were fighting it for quite a while, I don't know if they were ever reinstated. But people can be fired for such things today, it all depends on what yuh sign when yuh get the job....always read the fine print. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/agood.gif[/img]

Pelvic inflammatory disease, commonly called PID, is an infection of the female reproductive organs. PID is one of the most serious complications of a sexually transmitted disease in women. How Common Is PID?
Each year, more than 1 million women in the U.S. experience an episode of PID. As a result of PID, more than 100,000 women become infertile each year. In addition, a large proportion of the 100,000 ectopic (tubal) pregnancies that occur each year can be linked to PID. The rate of infection is highest among teenagers.

What Causes PID?
Normally, the cervix prevents bacteria that enter the vagina from spreading to the internal reproductive organs. If the cervix is exposed to a sexually transmitted disease -- such as gonorrhea and/or chlamydia -- the cervix itself becomes infected and less able to prevent the spread of organisms to the internal organs. PID occurs when the disease-causing organisms travel from the cervix to the upper genital tract. Untreated gonorrhea and chlamydia cause about 90% of all cases of PID. Other causes include abortion, childbirth, and pelvic procedures.

What Are the Symptoms of PID?
The symptoms of PID can vary, but may include the following:

Dull pain or tenderness in the stomach or lower abdominal area, or pain in the right upper abdomen.
Abnormal vaginal discharge that is yellow or green in color or that has an unusual odor.
Irregular and/or painful periods.
Painful urination.
Spotting or cramping throughout the month.
Chills or high fever.
Nausea and vomiting.
Pain during sex.
What Puts a Person at Risk for PID?
There are several things which would put a woman at risk for PID, including:

Women with sexually transmitted diseases -- especially gonorrhea and chlamydia -- are at greater risk for developing PID.
Women who have had a prior episode of PID are at higher risk for another episode.
Sexually active teenagers are more likely to develop PID than are older women.
Women with many sexual partners are at greater risk for STDs and PID.
Some studies suggest that douching may contribute to PID. Douching may push bacteria into the upper genital tract and may mask the discharge that could alert a woman to seek medical attention.

Hi

PID can be caused by a variety of bacteria. STD's which can cause it are gonorrhoea or chlamydia. It can be acute ie at the initial infection, or chronic, developing slowly over time after infection. People with chronic PID are more likely to develop acute PID because their pelvic organs are more susceptable to secondary infection.

Some women can get PID without an STD.

Anyway...weeks maybe months have passed since the STD episode. Things are going OK I guess. T has given me permission to take Babygirl A home with me. She felt the experience would be good for Babygirl A. The night before we are to leave for the airport. I arrive at T's house to pick up Babygirl A. I arrive and see that T is on the phone obviously arguing with someone. So I went into Babygirl A's bedroom and shut the door.

T came in a few minutes later and she was visibly upset. So I asked her who was on the phone. She said she would tell me later. I understood it was a ploy, so that Babygirl A wouldnt hear. I understood. We finished getting Babygirl A ready and we left.

I never spoke to T again until after mi reach Ja and we were calling to say we reached. During the conversation, I asked if she was OK, as she still sounded down. I thought is was because of the holiday and Babygirl A being away (it was the 1st time during a major holiday). Anyway, she says no that wasnt the issue. She was going to go to her sister's place for Thankgiving and some more ray-ray. So mi dun har fi seh what wrang. She brought back all of the stuff I bought for him and said if I didnt stop seeing him she would call the police...sigh..." Mi almoas drap dung. Lord, she has some serious attachment issues. Something happened in her life at a young age (not making excuse for her)I think there is a skeleton in her family closet. .....and no I was not abused sexually or physically just ignored. Lots of monetary stuff but no love it does something to a kid either T way or it just mek you hard as nails. Oh well

She said that N did look kinna sheepish. T seh she never knew who di young girl at the door was. She figured it was the another relative. When she fine out...N mother tell T if she didnt hear she would call the cops if she tried to make contact again. N sheepishly disclose that he would be busy with his new baby and that at the end of the school year he would be leaving to go to the army.
