Teaching her about friendship and compassion? People like T only think of themselves. She's a user plain and simple. What actions have she shown on her part to be a really good friend to ILUV? So far I've heard this is a one sided friendship, I'm sure if it was for Baby girl ILUV would have been fished with her foolishness a long time ago.

i agree with this. i think T would have been probably in worse shape if it were not for ILP's kindness. certainly her daughter seemed to have had a better chance at life, and even for the most dysfunctional of parents, that means something.

some people in this world are broken, you know, and it takes some special ppl to see with them and hang in there with them - even if it is ostensibly for another motive, in this case, to fulfill godmommy duties.

I am sure that the daughter knows at least a good 3/4s of what has happen. Children are smart and living in a house with someone, ppl usually leave around alot of clues as to what is going on in their lives. Espacially b/c this mother seems to think that BabygirlA is naive. i agree that i think the daughter probably knows exactly what is going on, and knows her mothers faults intimately, and, i daresay, probably loves her mom with all her flaws (unless T is an abusive mother, which i didn't get from ILP's posts).

Babygirl A probably is on a better path because she is able to see through ILP that life has more possibility than that which her mother is experiencing.

She all go look fah di man relative, suh daht dem can "talk" to him bout it. One particular weekend mi did pickup Babygirl A to take har to get some costume thingy she needed for school. (Babygirl is way into theatre, so she ahn di current mr. ilp have plenty tings fi talk about when dem see each other [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/bannana_purple.gif[/img] ) Babygirl A just didnt seem harself, and at first mi just past it off as "teenagers" [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70392-silly.gif[/img] you know how they can be... But after she never really snapped out of it, I asked her what was up.

Why did I do that...sigh... Babygirl A said, "I heard some people talking about my mom at school" [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70394-bawlout.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70361-embarassed.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/mad2.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/bexbad.gif[/img] I asked her what she was talking about, Babygirl A says, "They were calling my mom names and stuff." I asked Babygirl A who exactly was talking about T and she said, "Some of the teachers and a few of the kids." I ALMOST DIED!!!!!!! Onnu hear wah mi seh... Just so some of you know...T works at one of the elementary school that feed into the high school were Babygirl A attends. They all live in the same community. Mi was so [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/bexbad.gif[/img] at this moment because 1) Yes, T is out ah orda fi dis whole ting, but 2) these so called ADULTS dont know how fi watch dem dyam mouth [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/mad2.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70400-talktohand.gif[/img] I mean mi gawd. I asked Babygirl A if she knew what was going on. Now I have never (at least not intentionally) "overstepped" what I thought was T's boundries as Babygirl A's mother. I have always, always asked T BEFORE I have done anything. But I overstepped in this case when Babygirl A said, "I think my mom is having another baby." I mean what is that? T never tell di chile and she haffi hear of it pon di street [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/mad2.gif[/img] I told Babygirl A that indeed her mother was pregnant. When Babygirl A asked me, "So is the father Uncle [email protected]?" mi never answered, but I did tell Babygirl A that she should ask her mother about the particular details. What else was mi fi do?

Babygirl A and I spent most of that afternoon just talking about things. Dis is part of my dilemma...right hereso...hint...hint... Babygirl A loves T <u>desperately</u>and why wouldnt she? T is her mother. Even though T is a [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70374-lipsrsealed.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazy.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70400-talktohand.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/fight.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/whistle.gif[/img] she has taught Babygirl A that the world is one way and it works one way. I have never went against any of what T has tried to instill. Even when I didnt agree with it. Even when I have tried to tell T that children learn by what they see NOT by what they are told . Babygirl A was beginning to figure out that unlike what her mother has taught, that the world actually works one way in theory. The world actually worked one way in reality (for a whole other set of people). Babygirl A was beginning to recognize that her mother T was "the other people" and she (Babygirl A) was upset (or confused, perplexed, or whatever you wanted to call it) about where SHE (Babygirl A) fit in that equation. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70361-embarassed.gif[/img] Mi juss tried to tell Babygirl A that life was up to the individual and it is what the individual did that mattered in life. But mi done know seh tings is more comlicated dan dis.

Mi never seh anyting to T when mi drop of Babygirl A that evening, cah mi di too [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/sick.gif[/img] But T called me later that night, bout she have explanation....di nerves.....
