I didn't know who Chris Lightly was, but I did read the article so I have a better idea now.

I do not agree with your friend about the &quot;anybody&quot; part. Chris could have spoken to someone about his issues but not just any man jack who called himself a friend. The issue is not social networking but confiding in people who cannot keep their pie holes shut. Gossip is nothing knew. It's just easier to spread further faster.

He also could have sought professional help. He appeared to have enough money to find someone who would be discreet.

It seems to make them talk more lol.

Seriously though, it depends on the personality. Some people are attention hoes so I guess the chat about them makes them feel relevant. I think it must make the ones who take such joy in spreading other people's business feel relevant too.

No, my high level of discomfort is about the same as always. Because of this, I have no personal accounts with twitter, facebook, or anything like that.

Interesting question. I think I may operate the other way around. I am more likely to discuss sensitive topics on a message board or other places where I have a reasonable expectation of anonymity. The friends I discuss personal matters with are the same as they were before.

If I were having some sort of psychiatric issue, I'd go where I could get meds and therapy from strangers. It's not so much because I'm afraid my friends would leak but because they really can't do anything about it. I would prefer to get a problem treated moreso than just finding a shoulder to cry on.

if him never waan guh round the way there is plenty of them in manhattan him could have visited that wouldn't have known who he was.

with that being said, there is all sort of stigma in the AA community (as well as JA) attached to depression etc. Is time for people to wake up.

anyway mi did read that him have financial problems (owe 5mill to IRS) and inna the middle of divorcing him wife, so maybe this sent him over the edge ??

in JA mi cousin (doctor) tell mi seh when people come a clinic etc fi mental help, the nurse dem just bawl out dem name and what dem come in for

is like dem need training to understand that the patients need likkle privacy

too many times I see and experience people either spread it or tek ie cuss yu

However, if I have something I need to work through before it kill me, I would speak with a person who is paid to keep our conversation private (trained board certified professional)
