Why do people overlook redflags in relationships?

Just wondering why people over look obvious red flags that will cause a lot of headaches later on in a relationship? [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70402-thinking.gif[/img]

Once I met my best friend's boyfriend for the first time. The way he spoke to her was horrible. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek2.gif[/img] I confronted her when we were alone and she says he acts like this mainly because he was jealous. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek2.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek2.gif[/img] This jealousy turned into abusive behaviour.

I myself was dating one guy the biggest problem I could see was he was a devout Catholic and I'm a Christian. I had no problems with us as a couple but add children in the mix and I could see us arguing over what to teach the child and what not to teach. One top of that he mentioned that our kids would never get to stay over one of my aunt's house. This was because when meeting him she asked him 1 question too many about himself. Also I'm always amazed in some of these women's logistics, if the guy has a child or children and he isn't helping any of the baby's moms why do you think he will help you if you end up pregnant? [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70388-shameonyou.gif[/img]

I thought Catholics were Christians, but I think I know what you mean.

We overlook red flags because our good judgement is impaired by all the hormones whooshing around our circulation, interfering with our brains. You have to remember that our bodies have one mission, to procreate, so they really do not want us to engage our brains and be discriminating. That would not do at all.
