eating under the table is not safe for my dog or my cat.

If the cat food is on ground level the dog will eat it and cat food is not good for dogs. too much ash I think.

So I have a table in the corner just for the cat to eat on, so A) she can eat in peace and B) the dog won't reach the cat food.

Thanks for the info I did notice the qualifier "when eaten in large quantities" so I guess it is a matter of all things in moderation and with due care, whether it is eating kimchi or "nyaminn unda de table." At the extreme, one can refuse/decline to partake of either
