Black women.

Why are some blk women so downright nasty specifically to other blk women?

Could the rivalry be compared to the gang-like killing in what is perceived to be black-on-black crime?

Could blk women who use jealousy, competitive resentment, lack of self-control etc., to justify their actions be classified as killing each other...spiritually?

I have heard many women say that they would rather die in a ditch than to have a female blk boss. Do you feel that way? Why?

Some say that blk women have internalized their frustrations and have increased their stress level (with all of societal influences) to the level of self-destruction and are now taking it out on each other?

Any views?

we have never come to terms with the hatred & anger within us caused by the history of brutality against us and feelings of betrayal by our own fellow africans...
it manifests in self-hatred as you can see in the high rates of black on black crime and the ease with which our young men murder each other...
we're still a far way off since no one has called for an international african day/week/month/year of atonement;

Our men are running, our kids are running, heck, even strangers are running from a wrath that we are busy denying. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif[/img]

It plays out in our actions that we are self-destructing. We are pitted against each other, called demeaning names, treated like crap and STILL we rise...or do we? Is what life dishing out making us the untouchables but we can't see it?

i've often wondered that myself. i find that if i walk down the street, in the concourse i get some effed up stare downs from these goddamm women. it's so now i rarely make eye contact with a black woman. they do an inventory of my hair, my jewellery my clothes, my shoes. it's something really creepy. I see it and have been hearing about it more and more.

Granted, there has always been catty confrontations for whatever reason, but it would seldom escalate past sibling rivary back in the day, but now? [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek2.gif[/img]

It is getting dangerous for a sista out there and since the brothers have already haul asss, it has been looking somewhat bleak in terms of getting protection...from them.

it's even worse if they're walking in a herd of 3/4 abreast and they all give you the quadruple over. and it's not like i'm wearing a clown suit or something. That is exactly what I am talking about. What is UP with all that anger and ish? [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif[/img] Advanced Anger management is like entry-level to them.

So, with no one left for them to chew on at home, they head to the public and try and take their frustrations out on people who are trying to rise above the bull with their obvious stare downs, suck teeth and the rolling of the eyeballs.

You can't help but see them everywhere you go. Angry, busted and jacked up, waiting to pounce on their next victim from their secret hiding misery cell.

I just think that it is time that we BLACK WOMEN address this particular issue because it is growing and spreading like a rash.

...unless we are waiting for some ole withered up DJ [like IMUS] to come tell us bout ourselves.

i honestly think it has to do with an *uhm* class thing tho, caz more times i'll pass a sister who has a certain *not a ghetto princess* look to her and she'll smile [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif[/img] or just say hi. which is alwys refreshing.
