I have had the stare down, but not to the degree some of you described.. I sometimes say hello, or smile, and that seems to work..

The last time I went to the mall (which is not often.. I hate malls) I sensed this air of competitiveness among my sisters..
a suh ooman dress up fi guh mall dese days.. is the bling necessary for window shopping?..

You ladies who receive this grief must be shapely and beautiful. I don’t get the stare downs, dem nuhbodda wid me cuz to them, I’m no threat. Being over-weight means it less chance I’ll take their man or less likely their man will be interested in me, which is where I believe some of the anger lies. Once they’ve been burned like that, they don’t trust any woman who is a likeness to the one their man strayed with. In fact, they tend to pity me. I guess that’s a [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif[/img] good thing [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif[/img] bad thing .

my statement “is” broad ( I try not to do that)…not meant to speak of all women who carry an anger. But I’ve heard women make the comment “That b[img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70374-lipsrsealed.gif[/img]tch looks like the [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70374-lipsrsealed.gif[/img] that took/slept with my man.” That individual projected her anger on someone who reminded her of someone who contributed to her being hurt.
