They plan to marry next year.

Her parents have recently separated and have found individual interests.

She has requested that both parents leave their significant other at home as it will make her feel uncomfortable and cause discomfort with other family members and her guests.

Her father went ballistic and her mother refuses to speak with her.

Is that fair?

Is that fair? </div></div>NO, none of it is fair.....first off, hse is not beign fair asking her parents to do that. Secondly her parents should be adult enough to respect her wishes as it is HER wedding...unless they are paying for it!

They are not paying for the wedding. Maybe help out but certainly not covering the whole thing.

The mother - age 54 and her "boyfriend" is 37

The father - age 57, his "girlfriend" 50

The daughter is 34 and this is her first wedding. She is very excited and wants everything (as any bride would) to be perfect.

The parents are being unreasonable. They should keep their petty behaviour away from their daughter's wedding arrangements.
