I have demosntrated it with newborns many times.
as amatterof fact that is one of the points that are ed to calculate the status of the baby.
the baby will turn it's head at the voice of the mother,and will smile as a reflex in response to a smile.
If th einfant does not smile,the student is uaually directed to properly clean infants eyes of th eexcess of anitbiotic they are treated with at birth.

First thing, my husband said to tell you that you must be a bush doctor, not a medical doctor.

The smile reflex is not to be confused with PROPER social smile.
First thing you should realize is that an infant has a much better abillity to focus THEIR EYES,between the first hour of life that in the succeding week,of their life.
as th eabillity deminish they also loose the abillity to distinguich facial expression.
..and tell your Husband that i've been called that by many in th efield,but they all seek my counsel when they and their family's health is involved.
I consider it a compliment.

but seriously, don't make that fool you...is it 'marriage' that's important or two people nurturing their family...
american culture teaches the fairy tale idea of marriage & when it doesn't live up to that ideal then everyone gets grumpy...
also black man not warm to the thought that you are now putting your life in the hands of the court system if said marriage runs amok...
you may be broke for the rest of your life if vindictive lawyer & judge claaat yu...
so instead of now thinking about charging for murder (have you seen how many spouses kill each other on forensic files & nany grace)...nuff blacks just shy away from the marriage thing as practiced in western culture [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/whistle.gif[/img]

marriage is good but how much can a government legislate between a man and a woman?
i think they've gone too far...and what if i no longer feel this relationship is benficial to me...i have to hire lawyer and give reason to some guy why i no longer want to be tied to this person...and in some cases they can tell you no...you have to stay with this person (like the jewish couple in brooklyn);
it's a weird institution as now practiced in this culture

"Marriage is so over-rated" [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70400-talktohand.gif[/img] exclaim many of my unmarried friends who happen to be black.

Many whites (who I know) get married for financial security and expense share. Many blacks who I know, cannot find the men of their dreams by looking for the same so they tend to settle with just being with the ones they care about, even if they can't afford to "get married".

Why do people get married in the first place? THAT is the question.

Also, why does the gov't or statisticians care whether black people get married or not? What is the main reason for their concern? [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/70402-thinking.gif[/img]
