anxiety about having or not having grandchildren?

I have heard some parents wish for 'grands' even when the daughter has no mate. Could it be that they help to perpetuate the single-parent home by encouraging their daughters to have a child under any circumstance?

well I was watching this show (about models who are pregnant) and one of the chick was 24. Her mother who is single and just 42 kept telling the camera how ALL her friends were grandparents and how she used to ask her daughter "when am I going to be a grandma"

not even ask the pickney who is working as a model (nothing wrong with this but pretty looks a guh done one day) when she a guh college or what not

Could also be that they might be the one looking after the child.
