Why did you do it?

Apart from the much overused excuse of "being in love". why did you get married?

Was it societal pressure, spousal pressure,financial pressure, external family pressure or your need to have someone that "belongs" to you?

Did you need another person in your household to provide some form of stability or did you feel that if you didn't grab him/her someone else will?

I have heard so many negative things about "being married" that I thought I just ask for some honest and open feedback.

Please share with us who are not yet married why/why not it is a good/bad idea.

I was young. I thought I could change him by marrying him. I was foolish.

Lesson: You can't change anyone. If you don't like the person you are marrying, don't do it. You'll end up miserable for years or another statistic.

Well am not married because I feel am too young to get married. Also have no interest in being married, maybe will feel differently later on. Right now am not ready to give up my independence feel that I would have to answer to sumaddy else and that is a big no no with me. I do not want children and feel that will be a problem with some men I am quite content to admire other peeps chirren from afar. Dont have anything negative or positive to sey bout marriage have seen some good ones also some bad ones. Re Not wanting children - you are not alone, a woman I met a few years ago and her husband both didn't want children and they are very happy and have a fun life

Re answering to people: It nuh suh bad. I mean if you are going away for a day or two you gotta let him know where you'll be but if you going to Walmart or you buy a new pair of shoes, you don't owe anyone any explanations.
