Dear Pastor,
I am the mother of three children. I am a very unlucky woman because the fathers of these children hardly give me anything for them. I used to do daywork. A friend told me about a couple who wanted somebody to work for them. I started to do daywork at their house. They treated me well. They went on a cruise and left me to stay in the house.
One of the neighbours and I became friend. He used to come to the house and sleep with me when my children were gone to bed. Another neighbour told my employers about it when they came back from vacation. They asked me and I told them it was not true. I didn't know the guy had admitted that he used to sleep with me. One Friday evening the lady paid me off and told me she didn't want anybody working for her who was involved with a neighbour, and who slept at her house without permission.
She got angry
Her husband tried to beg for me and asked her to give me another chance. She got angry and told him she would have thrown him out too. They got into an argument and he told her she was too loud. She slapped him. He pulled her into a room and they began to fight. He beat her and she came out of the room looking for me but I was already at the gate with my children. While I was out there, one of their daughters drove up and asked me what was wrong. I told her and she called a taxi for me.
Pastor, I am so sorry I lost that job. I did not expect the guy to tell anyone we were sleeping together. I knew I was wrong, but, pastor, some men are worse than women. They talk everything they do. They can't keep their mouths when a girl takes a chance and gives them something.

You made a big mistake when you allowed this man to sleep with you in your employers' house. They trusted and left you to take care of their house, and they allowed you to take your children there, but they didn't give you permission to take a man into their home. Some neighbours are very close and they watch over each other's property. Perhaps you were unaware that they were watching the movements in the home. Perhaps some could have told you how many times the man slept at the house.
It is mighty unfortunate that, because of what happened, this man and his wife got into a fight. That should not have happened. The woman was wrong to slap her husband. There are some women who love to slap men. Some men don't retaliate because they know that they could get themselves into trouble. Others find it difficult to allow their wives to get away with that type of behaviour. You were smart enough to get out of that house when she told you to leave.
It is true that some guys chat too much. Perhaps this young man was not chatting for chatting sake. Perhaps he was 'bigging up' himself for having the opportunity of sleeping with you in your employers' house. I hope you have learnt your lesson. I wish you well in life.
