Dating a man who is unemployed

So I was hearing on a talk show this morning advice for women who are dating men without a job.

Encourage, not pressure him...he feels bad enough as it is. Tell him how much you love him for himself not for the money he makes. Don't give deadlines. Do nice things unexpectedly to cheer him up....and so on. Everything except: "so long".
