Off to Milwaukee today....

So I am heading out to Milwaukee this afternoon for a financial conference. I'll be there for a few days and will be sharing a room with this older lady. She is very much a chatter box and I frankly am not.....I prefer the voices in my head to most people [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif[/img]

I dont know her very well but she is really excited about us bunking together at the hotel. She has already planned when we are going for breakfast and lunch together. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/shocked.gif[/img]

Anyone got any suggestions to ease someone off when you have to share a hotel room with them????

I dont dislike her, its just that - well there is no just! Help...

Just make plans to do stuff alone and be very vague about what they are....then spend as much time away from her as possible!

spend as much time out of the room as possible. certainly there must be bars, art galleries, restaurants, bookstores and the like in milwalkee. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/whatever.gif[/img]

I thought I would try to explore the city on my own without her, but this woman is carrying on like I'm her new BFF and we are having a slumber party!

I'll try to be vague about my comings and goings. If I really disliked here then I have no trouble lying to her face. (Forgive me fadda). But, she isnt a terrible person - just too shiny, happy for my taste. Rather hang with the guys that are travelling......

just say no. since she's such a laughing, shiny gladys, it'll be hard to hurt her feelings. gosh those old women smell like mothballs.

I think she wheres Depends already 'cause there is a constant odour of pee-peee around her......

If the hotel still has any available rooms, I'm gonna spring for my own hotel room.

Otherwise, its pee-pee and mothballs for me, Oh Lawd.

Alright, thanks for the suggestions - just say no, just say no, just say no - I need to go and finish packing for my adventure.....
