in this story..but it just seems so sad
I met an elderly woman (and her husband) a couple of days ago who who've been married for 51 years. Ten yrs into the marriage the husband was diagnosed with Lou Gerigs (sp) disease..use of his hands was the first to go...he's been completely bedridden for yrs. She's his caretaker,no children, close family or friends. In spite of all of this (and a fracture sciattica bone or summen lacka dat) she was incredibly cheerful, nice and sweet.
I just kept thinking 40 yrs of this...could I have hung in there? I guess that's true love
