Googling your date

A co-worker of mine has been dating for about a month now. She feels she has met her soul mate. Against her better judgment but at the urging of friends she Googled his name.

She found his name on a list of delinquent tax payers in two states. Also found a newspaper report of a counter-suit he filed when his was fired from his job at a well known university after one of his students accused him of sexual harassment.

You can run but you can't hide caw Google have everybody business a street now.

I really don't know how (or why) women come to ignore red flags when they are "in love" Kia . Even when the drama hits them where they live (or it deh pon Google) you can see and hear then defending their boo saying things like "he's not a bad person, he just made some bad choices" and crap like that.

What do I know ?

I guess she nuh really wan fi know all his secrets. Ignorance is bliss....so they say. IF she fine out all a dat fi free, imagine what she would find out if spend couple dollas on one a dem people search sites.

I know someone that was in a serious relationship, and when di bredda start talk bout tekking things to the next level, she decide fi search him. One long sheet, mostly fraud (credit card, checking account, etc). His mother's name came up on a couple of his 'issues', so she pay fi get di modda info as well. Di two a dem was basically a set of con-artists moving from state to state.

Of course she tek har time and get out of dat relationship.

I asked about him 2 of my cousins really know him and his family. With the little bit of digging around that I did, I was able to find out way too much stuff on this guy as well as his family. Why are women so stupid?

Boopie, my experience is that women will defenn any amount of almshouse behavior by their boos. Look at that senator who was in the tylit a touch the other man foot wid im foot weh day only to fine out the other man was an undercova babylon. Yuh noh si the woman stann up beside im a press conference a kin har teet (an prolly just DYING inside) ? I mean you just KNOW this bredda has been cruising bathrooms for sex for years now, im juss get ketch this time.

One thing about Google though, no matter how much repentance and forgiveness may be afforded you, the dutty tings that you were involved with lives on forever as digital strike against you forever, visible to all with enquiring minds and a computer.

Unless you know absolutely <u>nothing</u> about the person it is usually not that hard to tell Boopie. When you are in a relationship information such as where you lived before, who you worked for, your middle intials and so on can help to corroborate what you are looking at. This is especially easy if the individual works in a regulated profession.

Of course if your boo has a name like John Smith and is evasive about his past and what he does for a living then you might have a problem ! [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/704555_dwl.gif[/img]

Well I spoke to my aunt last week, she told me that my cousin was out with her boyfriend. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rolleyes.gif[/img] I told my aunt (not giving her information that 2 of my cousins knows this guy and his family) about how this guy she's dating is known for physically abusing women, the troubles that the whole famliy has been in. The only thing she has to say is "Well he's treating your cousin well." [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek2.gif[/img]

Now my cousin or aunt doesn't know this guy from Adam, my cousin may think she knows him. To have 2 people tell you about this idiot and you're still laying up with him then sorry anything that happens to her will be on her. The only thing I can think of are these women are at a desperate stage of their lives and will ignore any negative poof you try and share with them. The town where I was raised in everybody knows pratically each other or a family member. All you need is a last name. I know my cousin has a friend that is a police officer all she has to do is give him the name of her new bo and his sisters names. I can tell you something she's the complete opposite than me way before I get that close and intimate I'm going to have to "know" your family and friends first. Just being around and observing them will help. I went to school with one if his younger brothers and the boy was loud and obnoxious always fighting and getting suspended from school. My cousins say the whole family is that way, if you have trouble with one the whole family wants do whatever comes natural for them. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/whistle.gif[/img]
