Juanita Bynum: Prophet or just seeking to profit?

"Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves." … – Matthew 7:15-16
Bishop Thomas Weeks III and nationally known "prophetess" Juanita Bynum were married in a lavish, million-dollar televised wedding at a hotel on Wall Street in 2002. They had 80 people in their wedding party and 900 guests.
Just six months into their marriage they began hosting a marriage series and were fast becoming one of the most influential black Christian couples in the U.S.
Bynum's loud and aggressive "bulldog" preaching style combined with the mentorship of Bishop T.D. Jakes catapulted her into stardom. In 1999, she addressed a crowd of 80,000 women at Jakes' "Woman, Thou Art Loosed" Conference.
Juanita Bynum and Bishop Thomas Weeks III wed.
But something happened to Juanita Bynum's fairytale. The golden couple split up. Then the dream became a nightmare.
According to Bynum, she was recently beaten, choked and stomped by her estranged husband, Weeks, outside an Atlanta hotel.
The alleged beating received plenty of national media coverage. Subsequently, Bynum held a press conference announcing that she had found a new "God-given" purpose. With a dramatic show of vulnerability and hubris, she said, "Domestic violence has a new name and face, and it's Juanita Bynum."
This sad series of events begs these questions:
How does a fairytale marriage of a powerful Christian couple turn out to be a marriage from hell?
How can Juanita Bynum be the poster child for domestic abuse before we know the truth about her role in this altercation?
There can be only one possible reason why this marriage ended the way it did. Neither Bishop Weeks III nor Juanita Bynum are "born again," and God did not call them to be his ministers.
I submit to you that there's no way a man of God would beat his wife, as Weeks is alleged to have done.
And if Juanita were truly a woman of God, she would not use her marital problems for personal gain – or use the media to destroy her husband.
At her press conference, Bynum stated, "My focus is not the marriage. My focus is … to accomplish a new purpose [domestic violence cause] that God has given me."
Bynum then attended a fundraising event for Barack Obama where she planned to discuss her domestic abuse concerns with the candidate. Oprah Winfrey hosted the event at her estate in California.
And why would a woman of God go to the government, especially to a liberal Democrat like Obama, to address a spiritual sickness?
I'm sure it won't be long before we see Bynum on "Oprah" dressed in pink and with just the right lighting to make her appear soft, vulnerable and innocent.
Well there was a rumor that there is an allegedly sex tape of Juanita Bynum out there somewhere. Most though the tape was of her husband and herself.
