madly in love with someone yet you are reserved in that relationship? Can you love someone without giving your all to that relationship or person?

Re: Can you be
what i'm *trying* to say is that if the person is initially reserved, after a period of time of being in the relationship, and things are going well, one would think that they would lower their defences a bit ???
(is a question mi really asking/pondering i guess)

Re: Can you be
that is what should happen right. After a while you should let go and relax. What if the person says they can't because the won't allow anyone else to hurt them. Does the relationship makes sense continuing? Isn't it pointless to continue?

Yes.
I don't think you can be inlove with some for a long period and hold onto your reserve for the same length of time. On of them is going to slip. Either you're going to put a limit on how much or how deeply you love that one, or your going to let the reserve drop away so that you can be totally open with the one you love.
Love is a risk and in my opinion, it's worth it.

good questions coolmug.
well i guess part of it would depend on just how the person keeps up their defenses (specific behaviour)..and if the other person could tolerate this behaviour.
