Follow-up to cellphone

MarieK asked about answering mate's cellphone- Do you have access to your SO's email or voice mail. Would you care if he has access to yours?

Maybe it would be helpful in certain situations.. I'm thinking (kinda morbid) of soldiers abroad who die in the service, would they want others to have access to their personal messages? (I think there wasa case a couple of years ago where teh mom was trying to sue yahoo for access to his account). If you died, would you care if others accessed this info?

seriously though we have access to each others personal email , voicemail (well that is my cell cause house calls get forwarded there) and I can answer his cell if I wish as he mine and we have the common password..

Ah mean maybe mi naiive but life too shawt nexx ting wan girl guh dial di rang numba or mistype wan letta an him get di email an mi guh murda har an di whole breed an come fi fine out seh a mistake an mi a basin fi big prison berta nyam outa hell no.

To access vmail and email, you need to either get password directly from SO, or get it by being really sneaky [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek.gif[/img]

But snail mail is a good one too, would you open letter received at home? (Isn't that like a federal offense [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/704555_dwl.gif[/img]) I open all mail at home because nothing personal comes in snail mail anymore it seems, and who has time to actually read the envelop to see addressee! I have no interest in vmail and email.

At one point a few years ago, someone had my password for my email. It didn't matter to me because I trusted the person. I have never given that access to anyone else but I've gotten it and still have it as a matter of fact for someone who I'm no longer seeing. I have no interest in using it however.

Currently, I would never entertain sharing passwords and access to vm/emails. I learned my lesson with my ex. He came up with the idea to have the last 4 of his SS# as our cell phone passcodes so that we can access each other's messages. I'm not even sure why. Can't remember. It backfired when his ex-wife was banned from calling our home and she started calling his cell and leaving unnecessary messages. She knew I had access.

I don't think he ever went into my messages too much because he quickly found out I had nothing to hide AND I discovered I had messages from my Mom and Sister that I would never get but they promised they left them. When he'd get mad, he'd call Cingular and change his code. Then change it back 1 or 2 days later. I changed mine and so did he, but I found his out and still had access and deleted what I wanted. Now, when my friend's phone rings, he usually turns it off until we depart and I keep mine on vibrate. I only questioned him once when he ignored 2 or 3 calls, then checked his voicemail after I made a call on my phone and I heard a female voice coming from his message. I did not press the issue. Just asked who it was. I have no time for that foolishness anymore. Especially when you can trust the person. Me, on the other hand, everybody knows that if I leave the room, I say "If my phone rings, somebody answer it until I get back".

David and I share a cellphone.

I open his mail (there are no personal snail mail anymore anyway) cause I usually get the mail and it's usually bills or some government thing...

He does not know how to check my email - only cause he doesn't want to. But the password is there if he changes his mind.
