one time me come late sake a me was leaving from downtown miami and going pembroke pines inna the rain...me was 10 minutes late and her receptionist/nurse whateva have the NERVE to tell me seh me late.

They make you wait back there in the paper napkin w/ nothing in the exam room to read. On gyn left me in the napkin for 45 minutes. I got agitated and opened the door and told them I needed attention now.

I dont know about the rest of you but what I do is take a magazine home based on every 30 minutes I have to wait. So I tend to choose MDs that either dont keep me waiting or have good magazines to choose from [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/704555_dwl.gif[/img]

I hate that too. I know how long it takes to see a patient, and I schedule accordingly so people don't have to wait. Will somebody tell my GYN to have coffee and treats in the waiting room?! If I get to my appointment 5 minutes early, I still have to wait 30 minutes to be seen. So I tried 15-20 minutes early. Same deal. I found out, since 8:00 is the first appointment, we have to wait for them to chit chat about whatever went on from the previous evening. On my last appointment, I sat in a cold room, in a paper gown, for almost 20 minutes before Doc walked through the door. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/bexbad.gif[/img] So for me, I might as well be on time because being early will not get me seen any faster even if I am the first patient seen that day. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rolleyes.gif[/img] But God forbid anyone is late. They have the policy that if you are 15 minutes late, you have to reschedule. What about when they make you wait???

Impose a $40 fee for patients being late after the second time (2 in a row). Don't tell them, but if they call at least an hour ahead to let you know, you could waive the fee. Also, the same fee would apply if they don’t call and cancel, at least a day before their appointment, and just not show up for the appointment. Post signs, and send out mailers to notify all patients. When it hurts in the pocket, they should get the message.

yes, and patients can also impose that same fee if u (the doctor) keep them waiting longer than 10 minutes. The patient's time is just as valuable as the doctor's.
