Do you look forward or dread this time when you have to merge his and her families? How do you decide where to go? I know someone who broke up with a potential after a family dinner because he felt the family "is who she would become" and he couldnt see himself living like that. I think that was just his excuse for ending the r/ship

In general, do you think the 'out-law" relationship that seems to be referenced in American families- is not as common in Caribbean families? Meaning that islanders seem to unify better- what do you think? Whats been your experience?

Mi lov family an look forward tuh it, soh is not an issue. An yes wi hav bad behaving members pan both sides. Is usually ah democratic process fi decide whe wi ah goh. If di vote tie, den mi wi mek di deciding vote.

I have a couple of friends who even have exes visiting and participating in family gatherings around holiday time I'll get an introduction like- Oh that's Uncle Roger's 1st wife, Sandra and Paul mother- and everybody is just chummy chummy playing catchup like its no big deal.

I cant think of a Caribbean family where there is 'bad blood' or bad vibes. Maybe its because of the rum cakes?
