Just like parents shouldn't choose partners for their children... children should not be allowed to choose for parents UNLESS the child is at risk because of the person the other parent is introducing...
if it's simply -I don;t like them - then tough... u can;t give up your whole life and chance to be happy with a partner for your kids.
