I thought she said a black man could rooks off a black woman in the mailroom,she didnt have to be articulate.

I can see how if you look at this and compare it to the image of King Kong and Blondie, you could think that someone was having a laugh at his expense. In the context of the other pictures, it seems reasonable. If he was on the cover of a sports magazine by himself, his posture and expression would not raise any eyebrows. Likewise, if Giselle was alone on the cover a a fashion magazine.

Perhaps the image taps into our discomfort of seeing stereotypes of ideas of black men - fierce and threating, and white women - beautiful, frail, and in need protection from the animal lusts of black men.

In any case the cover got people talking - photog's mission accomplished.
