I get that way but on the opposite end. I envy the friends who are married, have children and are living the family life. One of my girlfriends just got married and the other is married with three children.......I envy them both.

Skelly, although I have no children I have been in a very long term relationship. I will say..that it is in my travels around the world that I have met all of my wonderful friend and their young (some of them not so young anymore) children. So I know that travel, careers, etc are possible for those that want it at any point that they decide.

I will say that I use to get jealous of other peoples lives, until I discovered that my life was mine to make of it what I wanted. Dont get jealous anymore...it was a waste of time (and it took to much energy).

Different strokes for different folks.

Some people are cut out for the role of spouse, parent& grandparent, while others are meant to focus on other things like business, travel etc... . I don't think one is happier than the other, just cut from a different cloth and called to something different from the rest.

I've known from a very early age that I wanted children...the husband part was just a requirement fi dat because of mi beliefs....I guess sometimes I just miss the freedom of my single/uncommitted days when mi used to party 5 out a 7 days a di week and travel all over. But dat is all in di past...

That is the problem right there. People can't just mind their own business.

I have a problem with people with this type of view. Those who are married tend to believe that those who are not are dying to be and the same for those who are parents whether accidental or not. Every parental experience is not a joy and everyday problems point at the very fact that most parents should be banished.

Every married person (at one time or the other) fantasize about being single again and every single person at one time or the other fantasize about being married.

Why not just be satisfied and focus on developing your choice instead of wasting your energy on others who did not choose like you? [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/rolleyes.gif[/img]

Many parents and married people who show your ostentatious display of importance are getting BUN by both hubby and children, no doubt by a single person with no family strain. That feeling is perfectly normal. Some people know they want children and married life at an early age and some at a later age. Either way, it would not be called life, if you were not allowed to look back and wonder if your choice was the right one.

Funny thing is that I envy my married friends and friends with kids. You have more freedom when single & childless however your life doesn't seem to have much meaning as those with family and kids.
