I am not very familiar with the how people deal with their dyslexia. One of my younger cousins is dyslexic but (mistakenly) I (might've) called her slow(well she did fiesty bad so me tell har fi learn fi read and stop di fiestinis). Her father is dyslexic and I heard it is hereditary via the father.

I still beleive I may be of help to him... it's just that whenever I mention it he changes the subject or if we are on the phone, he says he'll call me back, he's getting a beep(all the time!)
So I got the message but still I am prepared to buy specialty teaching aid books...

Well take the hint and let it be. You don't know that you can help him. Don't buy him books or tapes or whatever you think may help. He's had 30 odd years of living with this. He's not looking kindly on you just riding in and acting like you've got the answers. Let it be, Donnika. If he wants your help, he'll ask for it. Just don't think less of him if he doesn't.

Chances are those signs are there for those who don't read the language of the city. </div></div> In th eUS you don't have to be able to read to get a driver's license. Or people who can't read english could not droive here. Can you really believe that a person who does not read english can go to Jamaica and drive, yet they could not get a license to driuve there,because they cant read??

i'm lost on that one too.

you surely don't need to be able to read to drive...not sure about needing to read to get a driver's license...i'd bet they make accomodations.

road signs are pretty much universal...doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what they mean...even if you can't read the writing. i have a harder time driving on the wrong side of the road than reading signs that aren't in english.
