I am sure this has been discussed before but let me pose the question again: how do u define kinky hair?
I got into an interesting quarrel with my hairdresser the other day.
She got offended (yes she did) that I referred to my hair as kinky. to me my hair is kinky because it super curly and thick. she kept insisting that my hair is not kinky because I got "soft" even though it si really curly at the roots.
I told her I dont business with the good har bad hair thing cause none of that was chatted in my house. She proceeded to quarrel with me because she thought I was wrong to say kinky because I have "soft" hair.
Note: I like the texture of my hair and that it is very thick and curly.
I gave up trying to explain myself and stopped replying cause I just wanted my hair done and none of the argument.
So, when someone says kinky is your conotation a negative one -one of those words that has been imbued with negative conotations because of legacy of slavery when in fact it isnt in essence a bad word but an simply a description of a hair texture?
The whole good hair/bad hair is something I learned outside of my home.
what u think?
