what type of style did you get? Yes it happened to me only once, she did it so tight my husband said my eyes looked like I was Chinese. My head hurt so bad I almost got hit by a car, cause it hurt to look left and right.
Then I had to sit up all night, my husband was trying to massage my scalp in between my "don't touch it owwwwwww" The style was pretty though I will never get that one again.

How is your head today, I was trying to find the hair style I had but couldn't find a picture. She used thread and pulled it some sort of way they looked like cork screws. Loved the hairstyle but I'll never get that one again. I had to sleep upright for 3 nights, I kept wetting it over and over thinking that it would help.
I was so glad it stopped hurting when I went on vacation to Barbados, everybody was touching it trying to figure out just how my hairstylist did it. I knew I wouldn't have let anybody touch it if it was still hurting.
it's not supposed to hurt that much. that can cause damage to your roots leading to hair loss. i feel your pain tho, but don't ever go back to that person caz they obviously don't care about the health of their clients' hair.
Sue is right, my husband was so mad at me for not telling her, in my case it wasn't the braiding but the thread that they used to make the hair puffy. I'll never get that one again.
Another thing if your head is not used to getting braids then yes the first time is going to hurt no matter what.

plus mi workout yessidey wid dem and it did nice to not haffi do a ting wid mi hair after mi did finish.
but mi did have a thought...lawd when it time to tek these things out...mi gwine be inna pickle
Never ever again! I spent 5 hrs getting them put in and 8 hrs that night taking them out. They were so tight my aise felt puckered.

Hopefully you didn't get the tiny ones. I'll give you a hint, know just where your real hair ends when cutting the braids to undo them or else you're going to end up cutting your own hair.
Undo each braid one at a time, "it's a big mess otherwise" brush your real hair and braid it so it doesn't get tangled with the unfinished hair.
Be advised, the longer it took her to braid your hair it's going to take you double the amount of time in getting them out.

what was amazing is that he noticed
usually i have to do something drastic before he notices (last time i went from long to short hair).
he said (in response to my braids), "now that you got your hair all done up...looking all sexy, you think you bad now, huh?"
he even offered to bring me some Tylonol before we went to bed.
