Did any of you ever make your own clothing at any time?

I used to do so especially when fabric could be bought at Josephs at <span style="font-style: italic">little bit per pound</span> and all I needed was a pound or so.

Did you ever sew?

From when I was 12....my Mom taught me. I ended up having several businesses where I designed and sewed the garments that I sold in the shops.....haven't done much lately since I sewed the cushion covers for my back porch seating.

if you count the pastel pencil skirt that i made for home economics class...then yes

Such useful skills eh? Pity computers have taken over so many kids...when they could be learning such stuff... also..

So you do remember embroidery thread etc...? We had to learn to embroider guest towels, tray cloths and the whole nine yards...
We used to go the store to buy <span style="font-style: italic">DMC</span> thinking that was the real name but it was just a brand name

Along with that does making Barbie doll clothes count? My mom would always take me to the fabric store so I could make Barbie&quot;s outfits. I always made her clothes tight and short looking like she was going out clubbing. Her darn high heels were hard to keep up with too, like she'd had too much partying.

until well into my 20s I used to sew my clothes. I actually learned here in Canada - in them day HomeEc classes used to include sewing. I really stopped when i got married and had kids.

yes. i sew. time constraints and shopping in the fashion district has put a hamper on it. i can get a linen one of a kind sample skirt for $5. linen can run as much as $28/metres.

my daughter bunged up the sewing machine so the tension is messed up anyway. peer loops form.
