Question for Fashionistas

Mi a search fi a handbag pon different places..

so mi go Marshalls and see a Michael Kors Chestertown in Burgundy. Now fi comparison shop mi go online but mi noh see it pon de Michael Kors site and barely other places online?


next example - Elliott Lucca make a satchel bag called Sasha. The one I saw does not match the pics I see online. The model numbers are different (the one i saw is 103672, the one displayed is 103675).

Are manufacturers creating styles specifically for the discount store lines? (eg Marshalls, Loehmanns (which have a nice 20% coupon sale a gwan now fi shoes & handbags), etc?)

but marshalls and dem place deh is usually only one or two months behind so I was quite surprised.

There are plenty things I see in the stores that are also at Marshalls though

yes some of them do have lines just for the discount market..different materials, etc..I first became aware of it with woodbury commons yrs ago.. kinda defeats the entire purpose of designer discount shopping

exactly.. and I think the Marshalls, Loehmanns, et al seem to be just receiving the stuff from the designer discount outlet. MI kinda bex bout dat and will just return de bag dem pon principle

isn't that more like when deigners mek lower budget stuff and sell exclusively to one store. (i.e Vera Wang for Kohl's, Isaac Mizrahi for Target, etc)

that is completely different than the items at maxx/loehmann's

the 'sasha bag' from elliot lucca site and available in regular stores -- model is 103675


but in loehmans what is tagged as the 'sasha' bag has the braided leather &amp; texture as the one above.. but is styled like this bag, the 'portia'



the model # on the tag is 103672 but you cant see this bag anywhere online

Marshall's etc are &quot;off price&quot; stores.

Macy's etc are department stores

and dem kinda store sell brand/designer name stuff

Target etc are discount stores and dem sell private label ( sometimes lower quality stuff )

So if Macy's a sell a Martha Stewart comforter set for $200 and go find it at Marshall's for $85 it is the same quality product as MAcy'sbut at a discounted price.

If you go Target and see a Martha set for $85, that is the actual price/worth of the material an everything weh dem mek specifically for Target. so is not really discounted anything

Kia, purses r made in collections juss like clothes...so u will have the sasha collection wich has different designs wid certain basic similarities....the collection under one name will have purses in different types of leather etc etc etc...but it is the 'sasha' collection...then u have the said name carried forward but new touches fi a new season....bags ,like clothes these days have to keep up wid changing trends...hence u ha di disasters fi some ...e.g Coach...the new Coach is nutten like di ole Coach
