Clothing and Footwear Sales Tax Exemption

As you may know, the City and State have teamed up again to provide New York shoppers with another sales tax free week from August 30th through September 5th. (Purchase should be less than $110).

Also, just a reminder that the New York sales tax rate is changing. Effective September 1st, the City has eliminated its portion of the sales tax on clothing and footwear items costing less than $110, which will bring the new rate down to 4.375% on such items.

Massachusetts have their free tax this weekend - I guess

N.Y. it is about time, their tax was so high and there was no need to have tax on clothing.

MA do not have tax on needs such as some food and clothing

Florida kids go back to school about a month before NY kids...suh a guess dats y fi dem tax exemption a di wk 'fore layba day.

we northern starts school after labor day... this include canada also
