I'll warn you - Kerastase products are really expensive.
My stylist uses Mizani products on me as well - Moisturefuse is a great conditioner. If the salon is using Mizani products your perm is (should be) blended for each customer, so you definitely need to find out what strength they are using on you.
The girl I worked with who got twists just started doing them herself - her hair wasn't very long and like me she did weekly maintenance on her own anyway. I believe that she said that the hardest part was getting the ends to stay together. She used some sort of setting lotion to do that. I wouldn't think that you have to go to a salon specializing in natural hair to get twists, because most of the hair will still be permed, you know?
