Greetings, I have locks just below my ears and they just hang there. I am currently working in the corporate world and sometimes its difficult to style my locks for them to look presentable.
sometimes i braid mine together and pin them up. it keeps them out of my face. partly because about three years ago i gave myself a mullet so the back is longer than the front. the front gets in my eyes, but when i braid them together they're manageable.
some people curl theirs.
but i'll wait for the locktician specialists to come and advise. i have the old fashion do at home dreads not the beauty salon dreads so mine aren't as uniform as are some other's
I have the at home dreads too..I try to braid them but that are not neat enough or maybe I have trying too hard..I know know...I even try doing the crochet thing when you loop the locks through the roots but it is making my locks too thin and I don't want that.

look just ease up on the crochet thing. if you didn't start yuour locks with the crochet thing, i wouldn't advise you to start wtih it.
Sue sumba..I hear you on that on but i try that and got fired from the fus job..so now what. I wish I could just wear it free and let it be because that is one of the reasons for it but when you have to be a part a babylon system what can you do.
i'm part of babylon system too. have you considered a snood?
when i first started locking waay back when and thought i needed a more babylonian finish, i crocheted several of these (elastic brim) and would pull my hair back.
lol Sue sumba..I gather that you are black..I have head wraps and tams but nothing like that..as a matter as fact you can check out my website for some knitted things that I sell at www.webspawner.com/users/rastawear
Anyway I sometimes use a short wrap to pull it back but I might try knitting something like yours and see how it works.
curlielocs as much as i think all that *rasta* stuff is cute, you'd never catch me dead in it, except on a casual friday when i'm being rasta fashionable.
in the corporate world, you have to realize that there is a certain yardstick that employers are in their rights to expect from their employees.
that said, i sure as hell hope you're not wearing that red/green/gold thing
what exactly is it that you do? do you interact with the public?
No..I don't wear red green and good to "work" and I wear it alot (out of work)and what do you mean by all that "rasta"stuff..I thought you were/are a rasta? I apology for jumping to conclusions

curlielocs, are you a white person?
rasta is a religion. i am not religious. i choose to wear locks because that's what suits me. my hair is quite thick and unmanageable.
yes I am jamaican..i guess we all have our interpretation of Rasta..I site Rasta from a different prospective I suppose..with all due respect I do not feel like getting into it about who or what Rasta is..I do appreciate the insight on the hair factor though.
