Pink and black epidemic

I don't know what it is about this colour combo but there seems to be an epidemic. I am constantly confronted by women wearing black pants or skirts with all shades of pink from pastel to hot pink. Obviously they don't know "the rules" but I am mystified when I see so much of it.

I also seem a similar thing with green and turquoise.

I thought you could wear black with anything.....what am i doing wrong....black pants and my hot pink shirt looks great

I do this alla time -- black pants/skirt with black jacket or hoodie, worn with contrasting 'hot color' or pastel blouse undaneath- Japanese women been doin that fi years too..... lived over there fi a couple years and it's considered quite fashionable; and a pretty way to brighten up yuh plain black suits or work clothes
