"Do you have extensions?"

That's what one of my white workmates asked me today. I know her quite well so the situation wasn't awkward or anything. I'd worn my hair up for about 2-3 weeks in a row, so it probably is a bit disconcerting to see this mane of hair "all of a sudden".

Afterwards I was wondering though does everyone at work think I wear extensions or a wig? This ever happen to you? Or people put their hands on your head feeling for tracks? [img]/forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif[/img] [img]/forums/images/graemlins/eek.gif[/img]

and why do people think it's okay to do that? i mean, that's pretty personal, putting your hands in someone's hair [img]/forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img] whether they're wearing a wig or not [img]/forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img]

No-one dares! They can look, they can guess, but touching is not allowed. Somtimes I wear long braids and when I remove them, if they ask me foolish questions, I tell them that it's a black thing, without any further explanation.

I never ask them about there perm, their bleaching, or their new hair cut. If they ask, all I'll say is, "Your new hairstyle is nice".

nope never been asked the question... what I have gotten is suprise about the length of my hair when I bother to blow it dry...

did u change from wearing a curly pulled up style to a longer straight style blackstar

No, I had been wearing my hair in a rather school-marmish bun. When my hair is out it's usually curly or wavey to have some body.

I am in and out of extentions .. and one time I took it out and had my hair out. Mi coworker said how mi hair look different and shi like it and what "brand" was it. Mi had to laugh. I told her I took out my extentions over the weekend.

How comes di white folks wid lang hair noh get dem deh question deh ..People jus assume cause dem white dem hair is fi real.Trus mi dem pay pretty pennies fi extentions dem self. Backfoot dem have a saloon in dis white area near my neck of the woods an weeken time in deh PACK wid pure white woman a get dem hair extended. I have had people TELL (not ask me) that my hair is not real or not mine [img]/forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif[/img] My hair is definately real & 100 % my own.

Who me coolbeans?.. Mi noh have noh Indian ina mi blood. Mi faada bless im tree girls wid thick hair. Mi hair grow nuff (not long). When straightned it is about shoulder length.
